Hello my name is Michael Martinez I am one of the youngest tattoo artist in New England. I am only 17 years old soo its kind of makes some of my customer feel weird when they find out I am not even legally old enough to get tattooed in a shop let alone tattoo someone lol but I was doing an apprenticeship although it did not work out because I felt I was not learning anything after almost a year and a half and you know what they say your only as good as what you learn but I am currently looking for either someone else that is whiling to put in some major time to let me apprentice them or work at their shop. I am also currently attending The New England Institute of Art in Brookline, MA for a degree in Graphic Design. As far as tattooing goes I have not yet found out what style I specialize in although I do have a very wide range of styles I am familiar with like New and old school, traditional black and grey, fine line black and grey, japanese, tribal,free-hand,custom, realism, portraits, and lettering. Hey everyone so I finely got my new apprenticeship under Poch at Tattoo Angus in Manchester NH. He is an award winning artist with 13 year of experience. He specializes in Realism trying to achieve a realistic look to all his tattoos so over the next 3 years I will drawing,painting,traveling ,meeting people in the industry, taking seminars, and most of all bettering my artwork. I will also be working on a book which will show my progression as an artist and also serve as a flash book with line work but I will go into more detail about it on another journal entry. I will be posting all the conventions and expos I will be attending and working

Nothing really same old just trying to come up with some cool ideas for this book I'm working on to kinda test prisma markers out and see what I can do with them and treat the medium almost like as If I were tattooing because the markers have a flat tip and a round tip and Ive noticed that you can not work the paper too much kinda like the skin when your tattooing but as we all know at the end up the day nothing is like tattooing lol

impressive tattoos for someone your age, I'm quite jealous actually because I'm 22 and struggling to find an apprenticeship.
I really believe you would benefit from some life drawing classes and just draw, draw, draw, draw and MORE drawing. I can see a lot of potential in your work and I'm going to watch you so I can watch for improvements in your tattooing.
